We raided a retirement account to help us make memories with our children and their families. We visited Mike and his beautiful family the first part of October. I love his kids and adore Alexandra. She calls me Pacca. I love how she sings and dances to "Let it go", including throwing both arms into the air.

Next it was Dennis with Aimee's family at Disneyland (someone still has to work). They were gracious to share a room with Dennis to save money. They were also gracious to send me many pictures so I could share in the fun.

Then it was Disney World with Kara and Paul's family, but they were responsible for their own. Todd was joking that when Dennis has trouble eating that he just needs to jump a bunch of times to get the food to go down. I think he was surprised when Dennis did that at the Liberty Tavern Restaurant. His stomach doesn't stretch or empty on its own. We're grateful he is still able to eat and not too many foods cause distress. I wanted more time with each of my grandchildren. I love to see Disney through their eyes.

Dennis won't complain of pain but I can tell by the way he keeps holding his breath and letting breaths out with long, quiet sighs. Metamucil, Ondansetron (?sp), Jalyn and Gas EX have helped him a lot.

Mostly Dennis looks good and is doing very well. His mind is much better than the "chemo brain" he had during chemo. That was like living with someone with Alzheimer's. There are still moments that scare me. A number of years ago Kyla taught us an easy crockpot roast beef recipe with dry onion soup mix and a can of cream of mushroom soup. Dennis usually puts that together as I get ready for church. Sunday he wasn't sure of the ingredients. He showed me a package of onion soup mix and a can of tomato soup and asked if that was right. I said that we usually use cream of mushroom. He stared at the can of tomato soup for a full minute before he figured it out. Much of the time his mind seems fine but several times a week it seems to fail him. Is it residual effects from chemo brain or is the cancer going to his brain?
